    The Panthère
de Cartier Royale, one of Cartier’s jeweled interpretations of its signature motif.
The Panthère de Cartier double loop bracelet watch, small model, in 18k yellow gold.
Originally introduced in 1984, the Panthère de Cartier watch collection became the ultimate, if not the most literal, interpretation of the signature Cartier motif.
Originally introduced in 1984, the Panthère de Cartier watch collection became the ultimate, if not the most literal, interpretation of the signature Cartier motif. In 2017, Cartier began to introduce new iterations of the iconic design, and the Panthère is a hit all over again. It has a new, more supple bracelet construction and an updated movement, but otherwise the design is exactly the same as the original, with its signature square case with screws on the bezel, Roman numerals, railway track index, and a tiny Cartier logo embossed in the X digit. There are a few new variations on the design, including a wraparound bracelet style — in a double or triple-loop format — and a Manchette cuff design that accentuates the flowing, silky bracelet.
A partly open-worked bracelet on some models reveals a glimpse of the skin and lightens the material to create a casual yet stylish piece. The new collection also includes models set with lacquer or diamonds on the bezel or the bracelet links. Metal options include stainless steel or 18k white, yellow, or rose gold. The new Panthère is a full collection, with multiple references in several sizes, including a mini size that is perfect for pairing or layering with bracelets. The Panthère is now a modern icon and a future collector’s item.
